day 1 of new yorkness!

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Lost, in the streets of new york, with my camera and a cup of coffee!

So – I have nothing planned but sleeping well the night before to get ready for the next day. And the most random stuff happened

It all started with where shall I go after I drop my laundry which is quite convenient (1 USD per 1 LBS)

The guy told me that a good area to go photograph is broadway and something; so all I found myself doing is heading west.

My day was full of delicious food (including but not limited to Falafel)

Visiting Lecia Gallery in New York (The President’s Photographer gallery)

a 1 / 31536000 chance to meet an old friend in the street and going to have one of the best tea in the world

Walking the subways of NYC and taking some of the best street shots I could take

What more to ask for but get ready for a second day full of photography

The she in her..

Friday, April 8th, 2011

I love this picture because it reminds of the lady next door. The stylish lady who is sitting in the next table in a cold and snowy weather. She just got into the restaurant, having a cup of coffee, sitting next to the fire, looking down at the menu. Love the blurriness around her because all you can see and focus on is her hair and her fashionably beautiful sweater.

little things in life..

Friday, April 8th, 2011

So, I just finished my dinner at a close friend of mine, who is also my photography mentor, and someone who I enjoy listening to and learning from.. Little things in life..

My friend and I have been trying to catch up for a week or so and one of us is always busy.. So, today we found it was a good time.. Since i have been craving spaghitti for couple of days, I sent him a text message before I head to his to tell him to cook something.. After all, he is a self pro-claimed chef – who never brags and when he does, you won’t believe it until you taste it.

So, I end up arriving to his and we catch up while he is enjoying the process of preparing the food for cooking. The little things you do that give you time to think while you are doing an activity. Thinking while you are cutting the veggies, while staring the food, while waiting for something to heat up..

So, he ended up preparing 3 dishes.: stir fried chicken with mixed veggies – Asian style, baked potatoes with pickles, and olive salad with green thyme and tomato.

Alright, so I don’t state facts, or bother to write a post about something unless it was a kick-ass, super delicious, and uniquly different meal that I have enjoyed. I know I have enjoyed the meal when

- I did not bother to think of drinking water through out the meal and my friends all know how important it is to have a drink while eating – which i know is not healthy.

- I actually asked him to stop eating the salad because it was so damn good.

- my other senses actually stopped operating and my taste sense got an “tastgasm”

The meal was so good that I stopped the music playing the background, started closing my eyes while eating, and enjoyed the food. I did not feel thirst or wanted to drink water either. It was so good, that I actually am impressed with the fact I felt, I have not used my taste sense in quite long time.

It is always hard to explain things in life that has a different experience. It is hard to explain a salsa dance without the song, it’s hard to express a beautiful place without a picture, it is hard to explain a great mealĀ  without tasting.

So, if I call you for a party at my place and tell you that Chef S is coming, make sure you don’t miss out!

Thank you God for the little things in life that makes our days better.
